Although vaccination rates have risen, health officials are concerned about the third wave of the virus, the increase of infected persons and the burnout of the heath-care system and its staff. IENews spoke with Medical Practitioner, Dr Lyndel Bervtie who outlined concerns about the devastating 2000 covid-19 related deaths. Dr Bertie also mentioned the importance of getting vaccinated as he highlighted details regarding the booster shot.
Dr Bertie then described the current state of the staff at Trinidad & Tobago’s health centers and hospitals in dealing with the constant incoming of COVID-19 patients, highlighting the burnout, mental and emotional drain.
