Chaos in the Trinidad and Tobago’s Queen’s Park Savannah as police arrested several protest leaders and supporters involved in a march and demonstration on Tuesday.
IETV was live at the scene where Guard and Emergency Branch officers were deployed to the location and moved on the remaining protesters, warning them of arrest if they did not disperse. It was confirmed that no permission was given for the protest.
There were supporters of the First Wave Movement and activists who for weeks have been calling on people to "Stand your ground and push back", supporters of activist Victor Roberts as well as scores of citizens expressing their displeasure with the current crime situation, cost of living, vaccine requirements and even the handling of the covid-19 pandemic.
