Newcastle wins. At last!

A tangible sense of relief was seen around St.James park as Newcastle finally ended their winless run in the Premier League to pick up their first 3 points of the season.

It was Burnley who began in the front foot and had 2 decent chances in the first 15 minutes of the game.New signing Cornet fired over from 20 yards and Gundmundsson struck the outside of the post from a narrow angle.Finally in the 40th minute the breakthrough for newcastle came.Nick Pope spilled a ball into the box and Wilson kept his composure to shot the ball into the net.
In the second half Newcastle got few chances to double their advantage but couldnt take them.Substitute Rodriguez thought he had rescued a point for the away side but much to his dismay it was ruled out for offside.Newcastle held on for 3 points.
This win enabled them to get off the foot of the table and move on to 10 points.Burnley stayed in the 18th position.
