BY A STAFF REPORTER

A IAS officer along with a 15 member medical team trekked for a few hours through jungles and mountains to reach one of the remotest villages of West Bengal to vaccinate locals. Aadma with a population of 200 people is located 20 kilometres from the nearest road.  The district magistrate of Alipurduar Surendra Meena took upon himself the task of taking the arduous journey by foot to administer the vaccine. He and his team reached the nearest motorable place, Raimatang and then trekked five small mountains and jungles to vaccinate the villagers. Meena later said 100 people were vaccinated.
