Despite major challenges faced in 2021, a new survey released Friday shows the vast majority of Canadians believe the new year will be a good one for themselves and their family members.
Even with the rapidly spreading new Omicron variant, there is a positive view of where Canada is heading.
Half (52%) of Canadians believe vaccines and personal habits will enable the country to defeat the disruptions in 2022 and have a normalized life by the end of the coming year.
But there remains some signs of tension and division.
A vast majority (75%) are worried the unvaccinated population will keep the country in a continual cycle of the pandemic.
Six-in-ten Canadians disagree there are too many consequences in place for those who don’t want to be vaccinated.
