Punjab acting director general of police, Siddharth Chattapadhayay is in line of fire. Highly placed sources in Punjab police told ANM News that the buck stops at the Punjab police. ``The DGP, Punjab is responsible for the security breach,'' The SPG blue book for PM security clearly defines the role of various security agencies. The Prime Minister's programme is set well in advance and various alternate routes are measured. Accordingly, security personnel are deployed along alternate routes for any emergencies and eventualities. Punjab police sources admitted that Bathinda and Ferozepur are known as areas with strong anti BJP and pro farmer connect. Most of those agitating in Delhi were from Bhatinda and Ferozepur areas. There was intelligence input of farmers putting up protests in several areas against the PM. An internal initial probe clearly revealed that DG, Punjab would have been advised against giving the green signal to the PM convoy to pass through the route. At least five hundred farmers had gathered and they have been moving around the area for a long time without knowing that the PM would travel by road. When information came that PM's convoy was enroute along the Bathinda-Ferozepur highway they came on the road to block his passage.
