Chief minister Mamata Banerjee's pet project of clean and green Bengal hit a roadblock after TMC chairperson of Board of administrators of Panihati Municipality allegedly stopped the waste management agency from carrying out the machinery shifting process. The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) responsible for executing the work was forced to write to the chairman urging him to allow the agency to remove the machinery to adjoining areas. According to documents available with ANM News, Greentech Environ Management Pvt. Ltd was entrusted by KMDA to carry out waste management work at Panihati, Khardah, Titagarh and Barrackpore municipalities. After completion of work at Panihati, when the agency was trying to take out the machinery to the rest of the municipalities, authorities allegedly on orders of Chairman refused to allow them. ANM News tried to call the Chairperson but there was no response. Sources claimed that as the Chief Minister's office was monitoring the project, KMDA authorities wrote to the chairperson urging him to release the machinery.
