Govt reopens applications for output-linked sop scheme for white goods
The government has reopened applications for the output-linked incentive scheme for white goods, a release said.

Additional applications are invited under Clause 9.2 of the scheme guidelines for investments under the scheme on the same terms and conditions as stipulated in the scheme guidelines issued on June 4, 2021, the release said. The incentive will be available only for the remaining tenure of the scheme.

The application window for the scheme will remain open from Mar 10 to Apr 25, the government said.

The government had approved the production-linked incentive scheme for white goods for manufacture of components and sub-assemblies of air conditioners and LED lights on Apr 7, 2021. The scheme is to be implemented from 2021-22 (Apr-Mar) to 2028-29 with an outlay of 62.38 bln rupees.

The release said after evaluation of all the applications, 42 applicants with investment of 46.14 bln rupees have been provisionally selected as beneficiaries under the scheme. The selected applicants include 26 for air conditioner manufacturing with investments of 38.98 bln rupees and 16 for LED light manufacturing with investments of 7.16 bln rupees.
