A Belarusian dissident, Roman Protasevich and his Russian girlfriend Sofia Sapega who were taken off a Ryanair jet after the aircraft was forced to land in Minsk om May 23, has been transferred to house arrest. The EU responded to the plane incident with sanctions on Belarus. Roman and his girlfriend faces charges of causing mass unrest which can land him to 15 years in prison.
