Centre has sought a report from the state government on the Birbhum incident. The union home ministry has directed the state chief secretary to send a detailed report at the earliest. Seven persons were burnt alive while a political leader was murdered in wave of mayhem and violence in the Bogtui village in Rampurhat in Birbhum. Local sources claimed that ten charred bodies were recovered from the houses that were set on fire while state DGP mentioned that police found seven bodies.
