BY A STAFF REPORTER: The government has suspended the sub divisional police officer (SDPO) of Rampurhat, Sayan Ahmed for dereliction of duty in the Birbhum mass murder case. ANM News had exposed Ahmed's inaction in responding to frantic calls from inmates of the house when they were being attacked and burnt alive. In fact, the sub-inspector turned WBPS officer had several complaints against him but managed to survive owing to his proximity with senior TMC leaders. But luck ran out for him when chief minister Mamata Banerjee admitted to police inaction and blamed the inspector in charge of Rampurhat police station and SDPO Rampurhat for the carnage.
