Ahead of Heat wave, IMD issued heavy rainfall alert

Ahead of Heat wave, Now IMD issued heavy rainfall alert. This weather agency said issued a rainfall warning over isolated areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Assam due to a north-south trough from East Uttar Pradesh to Northwest Bay of Bengal. The MeT department also predicted rainfall over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka because of trough and wind discontinuity over south Peninsular India.

The IMD said, "Light to moderate isolated/scattered rainfall very likely over Kerala-Mahe, Tamilnadu, Puducherry-Karaikal and South Interior Karnataka during next 5 days." Meanwhile, Isolated thunderstorms and lightning activity are also very likely over Kerala and Mahe over the next five days.
