By A Staff Reporter : The conference of army commanders is going to start from tomorrow in Delhi. It will end on April 22. The Defense Ministry confirmed the news on Sunday. Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane will preside over the function.It is set to be the last Army Commanders' Conference to be chaired by General Naravane as his tenure as Army Chief is set to end by end of this month.It is a top-level biennial event held in April and October. It is an institutional platform for conceptual-level negotiations, which is important for the Indian Army in conceptual-level negotiations, for making important policy decisions.During the conference, the senior leadership of the Indian Army will review the operational situation along the border, assess the threat in the entire spectrum of conflict and analyze the capacity gap to focus more on capacity building and operational readiness planning. The Defense Ministry also said that discussions on infrastructure development in the border areas, modernization through indigenization, inclusion of niche technology and assessment of any impact of the Russia-Ukraine war would be held during the forthcoming conference.The commanders are expected to conduct a comprehensive review of India's military readiness along the 3,400-kilometer Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the wake of protracted military stalemate with China at some friction points in eastern Ladakh. Apart from counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir, the overall situation in the Union Territory will also be discussed at the conference, officials said.
