By a Staff Reporter: The European Union will provide Ukraine with $521 million in military aid, the bloc's chief diplomat Josep Borrell said. The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy said on Friday before attending a meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Weisenhaus, Germany, that "we will provide Ukraine with a new tranche of another 500 million military aid". According to Borrell, the G7 will "put more pressure on Russia" in terms of economic sanctions. The diplomat said he was hopeful that a deal would be reached on EU sanctions on Russian oil imports and stressed the need to get rid of oil dependence on Russia.
