By A Staff Reporter : Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at a press conference in Delhi.The chiefs of the three forces also took part in the meeting.The defense minister said, ''The Cabinet Committee on Security today took a historic decision to approve the transformation project of 'Agneepath'.Under this, Indian youth will be given the opportunity to be included in the armed services. Under the Agnipath project, efforts are being made to create a profile of the armed forces for the youth.This will help them to train for new technologies and improve their health. This project will increase employment opportunities with new skills in various fields. Agnibirs will be given a good salary package and an exit retirement package after 4 years of service.''
On the other hand, Lieutenant General Anil Puri, Additional Secretary, Department of Military Affairs, said, “We will give the youth the opportunity to serve the nation in the short and long term. We offer Runners both long and short term military service. In order to transform the armed forces into young, technology-conscious, modern, the potential of the youth must be harnessed and he must be built as a soldier ready for the future.''
