Shinde government won the majority

By A Staff Reporter :Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde won the confidence vote by a margin of 164-99, with three members abstaining.

Incidentally, the Maharashtra Assembly is holding a confidence vote. BJP's Sudhir Mungantiwar and Shiv Sena's Bharat Gogawale have given a vote of confidence. After the vote, in a motion of no confidence, the opposition demanded a split vote. The speaker allowed it and began splitting the vote, asking members to stand for the head count. Another MLA, Shyamsunder Shinde, joined Eknath Shinde's party just before the confidence vote. Therefore, 2 Shiv Sena MLAs have changed sides since yesterday.
