By A Staff Reporter: The state director general of police Manoj Malviya has decided to raise the efficiency flag on his police force.
In probably a first instance in recent times, he has decided to directly interact with superintendent of police and commissioner of police under West Bengal police jurisdiction.
In a police communique, the DGP has summoned SPs and CPs of all south Bengal districts on July 12 and those in Western range on July 15 for a meeting and interaction in Kolkata.
Sources close to the West Bengal police headquarters indicated that Malviya is expected to speak on issues concerning law and order and criminal investigations. ``The performance of many CPs and SPs are not satisfactory and there are several grey areas.
The meeting will try to attempt to plug the loopholes,'' a senior IPS officer in the police directorate said. Malviya, known as a straight jacket tough talking officer, will be meeting North Bengal range SPs and CPs while on a tour, sources added.
