Ananya Saha : Transport minister Nitin Gadkari has expressed confidence that the use of petrol in India will be phased out in five years. He added that crude oil would eliminate the need for fuel. He also said that cars and scooters would be green hydrogen, ethanol flex fuel, CNG or LNG.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Road and Highways made a strong proposal to use green hydrogen, ethanol and other green fuels. "With full faith I want to say that petrol will run out in this country in five years. Your cars and motorcycles will be green hydrogen, ethanol flex fuel, CNG or LNG," he said.
