Assam flood toll rises to 192 after 2 more people perish in Hailakandi

BY A STAFF REPORTER : On Sunday, the death toll from the Assam floods reached 192 when two more people died in the Hailakandi area of the Barak Valley.



Despite the state-wide decrease in flooding, 12 districts remain underwater.
The  Brahmaputra and other rivers' water levels are below the danger mark, according to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority.  Bajali, Biswanath, Cachar, Chirang, Dima-Hasao, Golaghat, and Hailakandi are among the impacted districts. 5,39,334  individuals  in  390  villages throughout  the 12 districts  are  affected.
