Depending on your medical history, your doctor may recommend a combination of lifestyle changes, oral medications, or other treatments to manage your type 2 diabetes. Some people with type 2 diabetes can control their blood sugar only through lifestyle changes.
However, even if you need medicine, it is important to choose a healthy lifestyle. To help control your blood sugar, try the following:
eat a balanced diet
Get at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise per day, 5 days a week.
Do muscle-strengthening sessions at least twice a week.
get enough sleep.
