By a Staff Reporter: After several days without a monsoon, Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, and Haridwar are set to have heavy rains starting on Tuesday. The Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert. These seven areas could have heavy to very severe rainfall for three straight days starting tomorrow, according to meteorologists. Some places may see extremely heavy rain.
Director of the Meteorological Center and Senior Meteorologist Vikram Singh stated that starting on Tuesday, the government, district administration, and personnel in charge of disaster management need to be on high alert for the following three days.
People who live near rivers and streams, as well as those who live in landslide-prone locations, need to exercise caution. The government and the department of disaster management have both received a report in this regard. DM Sonika has also instructed the disaster management officials to remain on high alert due to the potential for severe rainfall in Doon and the neighbouring districts.
He convened a meeting with the disaster management officials and provided the appropriate orders. The sub-divisional magistrates have been ordered to remain in their assigned districts so that, in the event of a calamity brought on by rain, rescue and relief efforts can begin right away.
