Rishi, favourite to become next UK PM, to battle it out with Liz Truss, Mordaunt knocked out

BY AVIJIT NANDI MAJUMDAR- Rishi it is ! Well Rishi has the support of the Conservative party lawmakers to be their leader and Prime Minister of the UK. Now he has to seek support from Conservative party members. 

And giving him company in the race will be Liz Truss, the foreign affairs secretary in the former Prime Minister Boris Johnson cabinet. The popular party hopeful Penny Mordaunt was edged out of the fiercely fought contest. The Rishi against Truss contest promises to be a potboiler and one needs to wait till the end to know the winner.  Rishi polled 137 votes compared to 113 for Truss and 105 for Mordaunt.
