Crime against SCs and STs on the rise

Ananya Saha-The number of cases of crimes against Scheduled Castes (SC) has increased from 42,793 in 2018 to over 52,291 in 2020, an increase of 17.5 percent in three years. As for the cases of crimes against Scheduled Tribes (STs), the number rose from 6,528 to 8,272 during the same period, an increase of 26.71 per cent. This is according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data presented in Parliament by Minister of State (MoS) for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra.
