Shootout near museum on Park Street, 1 dead

BY A STAFF REPORTER: The shooting allegedly took place near the Indian Museum at Park Street. The incident caused an uproar in the area in the evening. Several people are reported to have been injured. A CISF jawan allegedly fired from an AK-47 rifle. The police are trying to disarm him. One person was initially reported dead. At least 20 to 25 rounds are said to have been fired. It was initially reported that one jawan opened fire at the other. 


Kolkata Police officials wearing bulletproof jackets cordoned off the area. The jawans entered with the public address system. According to sources, the accused jawan is reportedly still inside. Combat force has been deployed in the area.
