BY A STAFF REPORTER: Kiran Bedi is a genius of India. She is a social worker and former tennis player. In 1972, he joined the Indian service as an IPS officer. He then served as the 24th Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry from 2016 to 2021. In 1993, he was appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of Delhi Jails. He carried out several reforms in Tihar Jail, for which he received the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1994. Kiran Bedi is the first Indian and the first woman to be appointed UN Police Chief and Police Advisor to the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations. He runs an organization called "India Vision Foundation". He was one of the key leaders of the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. He unsuccessfully contested the 2015 Delhi Assembly election as the party's chief ministerial candidate. Kiran Bedi's name will always shine bright among the women of India.
