The Men's Asia Cup started back in the year 1984. The Women's Asia Cup began much later. In 2004, the women's Asia Cup was started for the first time.
The tournament was played with only two teams. The journey started with India and Sri Lanka. Indian women's brigade defeated Sri Lanka 5-0. This year seven countries going to perticipate.
