Congress loses former UP party chief Jitin Prasada to BJP

Congress leader from UP and one time close associate of Rahul Gandhi, Jitin Prasada is joining the BJP today and is most likely to play a major role in the coming elections in UP. Prasada has been making overtures to the BJP for the last one month and has been in touch with senior leadership. He went over to BJP minister Piyush Goyal's residence in Delhi this morning. Prasada was once President of Congress party in UP, till he ran out of favour with the situation worsening to such a stage that Lakhimpur Khiri unit of the party demanded that he be sacked from primary membership.
