By a Staff Reporter: King Charles III will be crowned on May 6 next year. On the occasion of the coronation of Charles III, the UK government has announced an additional bank holiday in the UK next year.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has declared Monday 8 May 2023 a bank holiday to mark the coronation of King Charles III. "The coronation of a new monarch is a unique moment for our country. I am delighted to announce an additional bank holiday next year in recognition of this historic occasion," Rishi Sunak said.
