RECOVERY OF DRONE ALONGWITH CONTRABAND ITEM IN DISTRICT TARN-TARAN

By a Staff Reporter: On 05th Dec' 2022 at about 20:56 hrs, Border Security Force troops deployed at border heard buzzing sound of suspected flying object / drone entering from Pakistan into Indian territory in the area falling near Village Kalia , in District Tarn-Taran. As per drill, the troops tried to intercept the drone. The whole area was cordoned and Police & concerned sister agencies were informed. Further, During search BSF troops recovered a a Quadcopter (drone), DJI Matrice 300 RTK, along with consignment of contraband suspected to be heroin (gross wt. - 2.470 kgs) tightly wrapped in yellow coloured polythene, with 03 radium strips, attached with a metal ring meant for release of the consignment from drone lying in a open wheat field near Village Kalia. Troops of BSF once again were able to foil smuggling attempt.
