BANGLADESHI SMUGGLERS ATTACKED BSF JAWAN BRUTALLY, FLED TO BANGLADESH

BY A STAFF REPORTER: On 17th January, 2023, at 1035 hrs, troop of Border Out Post Sikra, under Krishnanagar Sector of South Bengal Frontier stopped 04 Bangladeshi smugglers who were illegally entering the Indian border from Bangladesh side. Jawan on duty challenged them and confronted strongly but the smugglers brutally attacked on the jawan with sharp weapons. The jawan got serious injuries on his hand and head in the attack. Before the jawan could understand anything, the smugglers snatched away his weapon and fled towards Bangladesh. On getting the information, the fellow jawan reached to the spot to help the injured jawan, till then the smugglers had fled from the spot. The FIR of the incident is being lodged in Chapra Police Station. The injured jawan was given first aid at the Border Out Post and taken to Government Hospital, Chapra. Seeing the critical condition of the jawan, the doctors referred him to Kolkata.

BSF conducted flag meeting with BGB. 

After the incident, BSF conducted a flag meeting with Border Guard Bangladesh to recover the weapon and to nab the criminals. During flag meeting BGB Commander assured that they would soon nab the criminals. Shri Sanjay Kumar, DIG, Sector HQrs Krishnanagar stated that whenever smugglers and people with criminal intent do not get success in their illegal activities across the border, they deadly attacks on the jawans. Our jawans are attacked by smugglers and their accomplices run into Bangladesh in a planned manner, but still our jawans do not allow their plans to succeed, he stated.
