By A Staff Reporter : The Republic Day celebrations begin with the hoisting of the flag.On the other hand, the same picture can be seen on Independence Day.But do you know, there is a difference between hoisting the flag on two days?Although the flag is hoisted on both days, on Independence Day the flag is hoisted from bottom to top.And on Republic Day, the flag is kept aloft. It just stays folded. From there the flag is released.In English, the first method is called 'Hoist', and the second method is called 'Unfurl'.



On 15 August 1947, India stood up as an independent state.So the flag is hoisted from below on Independence Day.But Republic Day is celebrated since 1950. January 26 of that year was Republic Day. By that time India was established as an independent state. So the national flag is tied on that day. It was unveiled as a democratic state of India Wings as a symbol of fair. That is why the national flag is respected in two ways on these two days.
