Several dead and injured in Mumbai building collapse, portions of structure illegally constructed : Authorities

Eleven persons including children died and several others are injured after one building collapsed over another in Malwani in Malad (west) in Mumbai. Local witnesses claim that several others are feared trapped under the debris. Rescue operations are underway at the moment. The area has been sealed off by the authorities. Initial probe revealed that some portions of the structure was built illegally which added to the load of the building.
