Mali expels un mission's human rights chief

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Mali's interim government said the head of the un peacekeeping mission's human rights department had been given 48 hours to leave the country. "The decision to expel Guillaume Ngefa-Atandoko Andali is related to the biased choice of civil society witnesses at the UN Security Council briefing on Mali," it said in a statement. Minusma, the UN mission in Mali, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Malian authorities have come under pressure over allegations of human rights violations and abuses committed by Mali's armed forces in partnership with Russia's private military contractor Wagner Group.
