It is known that Sir CV Raman went on a tour of Europe in 1921. At that time, seeing the color of the water of the Mediterranean Sea, he had several questions in his mind. Then he started researching transparent surfaces. When the light goes through a piece of ice or ice block, he notices a change in wavelength. After a long research, he discovered the Raman effect. This discovery opened up new horizons in science. This day is celebrated keeping in mind the importance of science in daily life. This day is celebrated to remember all the work that is being done in the field of science, what has been tried for the betterment of mankind, all the successes that have come so far. This day is also celebrated to increase the consciousness of science in the public mind.
