Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice TS Sivagnanam as the next Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court

The Calcutta High Court is all set to get a new Chief Justice soon. The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice TS Sivagnanam as the next Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. The present Chief Justice of India Prakash Srivastava is set to retire on March 30, 2023.

 



Meanwhile, the supreme court of the country has already recommended the name of the successor to who will replace Prakash Srivastava. The three-judge collegium, including the Chief Justice, issued a notification saying that chief justice Srivastava's tenure as a judge will end on March 30. 




Justice Sivagnanam will take charge of the post. The three judges are Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice K.M. Joseph. Justice Sivagnanam was sworn in as an additional judge of the Madras High Court in 2009 after almost 23 years as a lawyer.
