Know the details before fasting and pouring water on lord Shiva's head

Then you have to take a bath and wear clean clothes.After that, you have to decide to worship and fast.One should resolve with unbroken rice and water in hand.Sick people should fast according to doctor's advice.

While pouring water on Mahadev's head chant Om Namah Shivaya mantra.In the evening, one should bathe again before doing Shiv Puja.Nishit Kal Shiva Puja has special importance.The fast should be broken the next morning after taking a bath.Milk, dhotura, bel leaves, sandalwood, curd, honey, ghee, sugar should be offered to Mahadev in the puja.
