TikTok Banned on All Canadian Government Mobile Devices

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Canada announced on Monday that it was banning TikTok from all mobile devices issued by the government. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said it could be the first step in the next step. "I suspect that when the government can't allow all federal employees to use TikTok on their work phones, many Canadians, from businesses, will think about the security of their own data and probably make decisions," Trudeau said. Last week, the European Union's executive branch said TikTok had been temporarily banned from phones used by employees as a cybersecurity measure.
