Mehul Choksi an Indian citizen: Dominica PM

Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has termed fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi as an “Indian citizen.” Sources close to the Prime Minister said Skerrit has observed that courts will decide the fate of the fugitive. He added that the government will protect the rights of Choksi as he awaits trial. Currently, Choksi has got interim relief from immediate repatriation to India by the Dominican court, which adjourned the matter of his detention.  His bail petition will come up for hearing on June 11.
