Bangladeshi farmer crossed International Boundary inadvertently while cutting grass, BSF apprehended & handed over to BGB as goodwill gesture

​By a Staff Reporter: On 3 August 2021, BSF troops under South Bengal Frontier apprehended 1 Bangladeshi national who had illegally crossed International Boundary and entered Indian territory from Bangladesh in the area of ​​Border Out Post Ashirdah, 35 Battalion, District- Murshidabad.
 On 3 Aug, 2021 at around 1400 hrs, BSF troops of Border Out Post Ashirdah, 35 Battalion Distt Murshidabad succeeded in apprehending 01 Bangladeshi national who had crossed the International Boundary from Bangladesh and entered into Indian territory. The apprehended Bangladeshi national was brought to the Border Out Post Ashirdah for further interrogation. Identification of apprehended Bangladeshi national established as Alameen Shaikh (age- 50 years), S/o- Murshid Sheikh, Village- Char Ashirdah, PO- Godagari, District- Rajshahi (Bangladesh).




On interrogation, the Bangladeshi national revealed that he is a farmer by profession and he inadvertently crossed the International Boundary and entered into Indian territory while cutting grass.
The apprehended Bangladeshi national has been handed over to BGB after flag meeting as a goodwill gesture.



 Shri Arvind Kumar, Officiating Commanding Officer, 141 Battalion informed that the Border Security Force is taking strict steps to prevent infiltration and human trafficking along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Due to which the persons involved in such type of crimes are experiencing a lot of difficulty and some of them are getting caught and they are being punished according to the law. In view of the seriousness of their crimes, Bangladeshi nationals are being handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh on humanitarian grounds and the mutual goodwill of the Border Security Forces of both the countries. At the same time, this type of action by the Border Security Force is also helping the Border Guard Bangladesh to take strict legal action against Bangladeshi brokers.
