If the southwest monsoon, which is advancing at a rate faster than normal, hits Delhi on June 15, it will be the capital’s earliest monsoon in the last 13 years.
The normal meteorological date of onset is June 27. In 2008, the rain-bearing winds blew into the city on June 15 to mark the earliest advent of the rainy season in Delhi.
