He is a BJP MLA from Ghatlodiya assembly seat and also an ex-chairman of the standing committee of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. Newly appointed CM said that, 'I thank Prime Minister Narandra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda and Union home minister Amit Shah for entrusting me.'
