Kolkata police has now turned to football. City police chief Somen Mitra is discussing an elaborate plan to push the police football team into a professional football entity. According to sources close to Lalbazar, efforts are on to form a Calcutta Police Football Club company. ANM News has learnt that additional commissioner of police Tanmay Roy Choudhury is spearheading the ambitious project. The Calcutta Police Football Club intends to develop into an independent professional football club and compete in the top draw of Indian soccer--the I-league and the Indian Super League (ISL). Sources also indicated that top notch sports management professionals will run the Club, once it comes into fore.
