SOUTH TRINIDAD RESIDENTS STAGE ANOTHER PROTEST OVER BAD ROADS


By a Staff Reporter: Residents of Realize Road, Princes Town, South Trinidad, staged a protest on Wednesday morning, demanding that the Works and Transport ministry fix 8 landslips in the area.The residents say this is a major road connecting Barrackpore to Princes Town which slipped down some 20 feet about a month ago, causing distress to thousands of people.
MP for Naparima Rodney Charles led the protests where residents expressed their frustrations as there are also landslips at Sahadat Trace, Diamond Road, Sahai Trace and Lengua Settlement. Speaking to the media, MP Charles said enough is enough. According to Mr Charles the roads have been in this state for over 2 years. One protester added that there has been no maintenance works in the area since 2015.
