The Calcutta champions

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Nov 14th 2021, Kolkata: A gloomy English weather, and an invitation to the opening ceremony of: CQube League, organized by The Calcutta Champions, is what brings us to the Paragon Cricket Ground at Khardaha, Kolkata. Established in 2019 – The Calcutta Champions is what they call it as - adds a lot to the game of Cricket specifically in the Corporate Cricket Arena.

Under the banner name of CQube League which defines as – Calcutta Champions Cricket League, this exciting Cricket Club – was found very engaging in their Opening Ceremony, on the 14th of November 2021, for the third year in a row. Co-incidentally, this day hosts the ICC T20 Word Cup – Finals between Australia and New Zealand to be played in the UAE, today.

Chief Guests for the events were: Mr. Biswarup Dey – Ex. Indian Team Manager, a Philanthropist, and an Advocate, who shared a few words about the club and their initiatives with us. We were glad to hear a few words from Mr. Nirupam Choudhury – Regional Director for NASCOMM, who was present at the event to motivate the Club and their endeavours related to promoting young cricketing talents through quality cricket gears, and motivating them to be the future of Bengal Cricket.

Speaking to the Captains of the opening day match on 14th Of November 2021 between Bankers XI Vs Bankshall Blues,  Mr. Khagesh Chaturvedi and  Md. Shehjad Hussain respectively, we learned that, this is their second year they are participating in the event, and they feel great being apart of the tournaments hosted by The Calcutta Champions where, it is handled in a very professional manner, on quality grounds, using top-notch leather balls and having CAB graded Umpires run the matches as per the ICC rules.

We wish the best to The Calcutta Champions for their upcoming events and will be keen to keep our eyes on many more healthy battles to come, between other corporates. To name a few will be - NIC, Undecided Authority, SB Steel, Avengers, Phoenix, Ordinance Factory, LML and more to name.
