Ranchi, Jharkhand: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has strongly condemned the recent deaths of several candidates during the physical tests for a police recruitment drive in Jharkhand. Speaking in Ranchi, Sarma criticized the state government, holding it responsible for the tragic incident.

The Assam Chief Minister announced that the BJP would file an application with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) demanding an inquiry into the incident. "The state government is responsible for these deaths, and we will seek justice for the victims' families," he added.
Sarma also called for substantial compensation to be provided to the families of those who lost their lives, suggesting a minimum of Rs 50 lakh for each bereaved family.
