By A Staff Reporter — In a significant crackdown, the IGI Airport Police in Delhi has exposed a major fake visa syndicate, resulting in the arrest of six individuals involved in the operation. The mastermind of the syndicate, identified as Prateek Shah, also known as Abhijit, was apprehended in Surat.
The operation yielded a substantial haul, with police seizing numerous fake visas, stamps, and printing equipment used for producing counterfeit documents. DCP Airport Usha Rangnani confirmed the recovery of 14 counterfeit visa stickers along with a large cache of forgery tools, indicating the extensive nature of the operation.
According to authorities, the syndicate had been actively promoting "guaranteed Canadian visas" through social media platforms, luring victims from across the country with promises of easy immigration. This fraudulent activity raised concerns among potential travelers, who were misled by the enticing advertisements.
The investigation revealed that the agents operated a well-organized network, leveraging social media to target individuals seeking immigration to Canada. Police believe that the bust of this syndicate will not only bring justice to the victims but also serve as a warning to others involved in similar illegal activities.
As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone who may have fallen victim to such scams to come forward and report their cases. The police are committed to ensuring the safety and security of citizens, particularly in matters as critical as immigration.
