Gandhinagar, Gujarat: Nilam Patel, Additional Director of Public Health for Gujarat, provided an update on the Chandipura virus situation as of July 24.

"A total of 121 cases have been reported across the state," Patel stated. "Among these, 6 cases are from outside Gujarat—3 from Rajasthan, 2 from Madhya Pradesh, and 1 from Maharashtra. We have prepared all doctors and field staff, ensuring effective surveillance. So far, there have been 40 deaths, with 10 confirmed cases of Chandipura virus."
