The political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir is mourning the loss of Syed Mushtaq Bukhari, the BJP candidate from the Surankote assembly constituency, who has passed away. J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina expressed deep sorrow over Bukhari’s death, stating, "Late Syed Mushtaq Bukhari Sahab was a big politician. The entire J&K and especially Rajouri-Poonch has faced a great loss due to his departure from this world."

Raina highlighted Bukhari's dedication to public service and his unwavering support for the underprivileged, noting, "He always stood with the poor, helpless... He dedicated his entire life to the service of the people." Bukhari's commitment to his constituents and his active role in the political arena made him a respected figure in the region.

Having recently represented the BJP in the assembly elections from Surankote, Bukhari’s passing leaves a significant void in local politics. His contributions and leadership were pivotal during his tenure, and he was seen as a champion for the rights and welfare of the people in his constituency.

The Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his condolences, stating that the entire J&K and the country stand with Syed Mushtaq Bukhari Sahab's family during this difficult time. The collective mourning from various quarters reflects the impact Bukhari had on the community and the political realm in Jammu and Kashmir.
