By A Staff Reporter: Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced that legendary actor Mithun Chakraborty, affectionately known as Mithun Da, will be honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Speaking on the occasion, Vaishnaw remarked, "Mithun Da is an actor and a personality who has carved a niche in the film industry after enduring many struggles in his life. It is our good fortune that such a hard-working, socially aware individual is being recognized."
The minister highlighted that Chakraborty’s influence extends beyond popular cinema, into social work and advocacy for the public. "Whether in films or social causes, Mithun Da has created a distinct identity in every field," Vaishnaw added, acknowledging the actor’s enduring legacy across multiple spheres of life.
