Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has assured that the central government will extend its full support to Andhra Pradesh as it grapples with the aftermath of severe flooding caused by a breach in the Budameru Canal. Speaking in Vijayawada, Chauhan highlighted the scale of the disaster, noting that the region has not experienced such heavy rains in decades.
"It's been 5 days since the floods due to a breach in the Budameru Canal. The state has not seen such heavy rains in decades," said Chauhan. He commended the efforts of local public representatives, MPs, and MLAs, who are working tirelessly to provide relief to the affected areas.
Chauhan also informed that the breach in the canal is currently being repaired, and every effort is being made to restore normalcy as soon as possible. "The place where there has been a breach in the canal is being repaired, and efforts to restore normalcy are ongoing," he added.
The Union Minister reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to helping the state government through this challenging time, ensuring that all necessary resources and support will be provided to aid recovery efforts.
